Hi Keith, It's very simple to get a fair lease. Get a copy of a lease from a previous large landowner's group that had signed. Cheap way and safe way to get a fair lease. I have a group of landowners and that is the path we are taking. Also, we are…

J&L Lukens, Solar energy is not cost effective. You would think solar would be cost effective in the southwest, but it takes too much water to operate the systems. "Clean the panels and fill the copper lines" They have a water shortage in the south…

Marie, Don't you know your logic is not sound? Don't you know that oil & coal is causing many more health issues than NG????? I am fifty years old and seen the results of oil & gas on our environment over my life time. NG WILL BE A TEMP REPLACEMNT F…

SK - You are correct on your comment " Citizens aren't stupid," They don't know you are working for the interest of the coal companies. However, I work in the Gas industry as an Executive Recruiter and own many acres of coal. Don't have a financial…

Carolyn,

Wow! Finally someone that is concerned with NG and is an intelligent communicator. You don't have to inject toxic fluids "7000" feet underground. You can use a drilling company that use high air pressure to frac instead of hydrofracing. Secondly, I don't believe you have to worry since your property is in area that the gas companies consider not prime at this point. I have many friends in Texas and they don't have these issues and they pump the water back into the ground after fracing. Would you like to speak with them?

PS Sorry to hear your property is not located in a prime spot and you will not be able to afford a home in Florida. I will say hi to Mickey for you when I am in my summer home.

Love NG gas!

James: I will not be living in Florida . I have not leased my land. There are many environmental dangers involved with injecting toxic fluids 6,000 feet underground. I have property in Dimock where we have all suffered from Cabot;'s actions. I am not categorically opposed to gas, I am opposed to the " drill baby drill" mentality that has taken over. There are not enough DEP inspectors. There is not enough concern for safeguarding clean air, water and protecting wildlife. And yes, wildlife matters for without it, humans have no life. it costs us hundreds of dollars each time we get the water tested. Why should I have to pay for this? I am not an " obstructionist" as the pro drillers love to label anyone with concerns. But it would behoove all of us to actually engage in dialogue with people who have been through this already, ie out in Wyoming, Texas and Ohio. Dollar bills are not the only thing in life that counts.

Do you think we could join your landowner group having land available for lease in Cambria and Center County? I agree with what you said before, even though lands may be spread out over the state, when it comes to dealing with leasing the more land a group has the more appealing it makes it to the gas companies.

Also, what are the current rates involved in your negotiations?

Thank You!!

Our Monyok Valley Landowner's Group has landowners from many different counties in the Marcellus Play. All the Landman in Pa have signed up many landowners over the last couple of years and ones that are left are somewhat spread out. Nevertheless, the gas companies pay better with large acre groups. The gas companies will flip leases to obtain continuous land for their wells. It's like playing monopoly when you were a kid. I always traded the green ones for Boardwalk and Parkplace with some extra cash. My group is administrated free of charge and the group is considering giving the money we save on fees to charity. Give me a call if you want more details. 610 668-5069.

we're over here in westmoreland county, don't know that we'd be much help to your landowners' group. Just wondered where we ought to be looking to prepare for this meeting. Our lawyer suggested a friendly sit-down with the landman,...hmmmm. We realize what a huge opportunity this is for ourselves and the future of the farm and really don't want to mess up.
